Home : Society : Relationships : How We Met : My Internet Date My Internet DateI decided I'd try out the internet dating scene after a horrendous relationship break-up about 10 years ago. I met several women while online and only knew what they said about themselves, which usually was a fantasy. Then along came Debbie. She was very beautiful in all ways. We were a perfect match. We wrote and talked for a few weeks, then decided to meet. It was a Sunday afternoon; a beautiful day and we mutually agreed to meet at her house. She lived in the country, up in the woods, very secluded area and quite a scenic view from her house. We sat out back under the tree at a table. We had a glass of wine and just talked. She was so pretty in her short skirt, not really formal wear but not quite casual either. I was intrigued with her conversations and all was pointing to 'This is the one' I could hear the wedding bells ringing... So as we were talking, she all of a sudden jumped up and said 'Hold on, I'll be right back!' OK... I thought as she took off running into the house. After about 30 seconds I hear this loud BANG and felt something whiz by my head! She comes running up to the table with this rifle and a hunting knife. I looked behind me in the woods and saw a deer. It was staggering, falling down, getting up and walking. Debbie says to me 'Are you going to help me or just sit there!?' She took off running into the woods. I didn’t know what to do, so I got up and followed her while thinking...'This is very weird'. I hurried over to where she was and she tells me to pick up the hind legs, which she'd wrapped with a strap. Together we lifted deer up and hung it over a low branch on a tree. Here she is in her short skirt, and a dead deer hanging in a tree. I could hear the wedding bells fading away. She smiled at me as she continued to prepare the deer, explaining how it was done. I learned a lot from her. I’ve never been hunting and I certainly never thought I would be field dressing a deer on our first date! By the time we were finished with the deer, I had calmed down a bit. We continued our conversation at the table and the mood was back. She was truly an intriguing person. I was very much interested in hunting and we planned a trip for the following morning. It's been almost 4 years now since that day and tonight we're having Debbie's special barbequed venison. She still shocks and amazes to this day! ![]() |
